AAO 2013 – New Orleans

AAO 2013 Annual MeetingThis year, Dr. Rodden, Julie Nelson, our office administrator, Deanna Taylor and Amanda Nelson, ophthalmic technicians and photographers, made the trip to New Orleans for the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting. Julie has previously been an ophthalmic photographer, and attended classes on imaging in past years. However, this was her first year attending administration classes.

This was also Julie’s first year as our newly appointed office manager. Deanna and Amanda made their first journey to Academy this year attending technician and photography classes. All enjoyed some wonderful evenings out. They ate good Cajun creole food, attended a clinical study party and went to a drug company event.

Deanna commented that the climate was quite different from the Northwest with its warm, muggy quality. People had a friendly southern hospitality. And many wanted to know where “Or-E-gone” was. : ) In the future if Deanna went back, she said she would spend a little less time studying and a bit more time seeing sights like the St. Louis Cathedral and the colorful streets of New Orleans.
