Osmaida, Carmen and Lisa attended American Academy of Ophthalmology in October of 2016 in Chicago. Osmaida, an ophthalmic technician and photographer, was able to see and experience firsthand the latest imaging technology and techniques at this year’s Academy. As she grows into doing more photography, this experience has helped to build her photography skills and further knowledge of eye pathology.
Carmen who is our receptionist as well as a biller attended a variety of classes to expand her knowledge of billing and improving patient satisfaction. Billing is new for Carmen, so the billing classes allowed her to understand a little more about handling insurance claims. But mostly, Carmen kept her focus on providing quality service to patients, as she is the first person patients see when they walk into our office. Carmen also enjoyed listening to other attendees discuss the way their offices work on a daily basis, paying attention to different procedures that make their offices more efficient.
There was also time for Osmaida, Carmen and Lisa to explore the city of Chicago! They got to enjoy the Art Institute, Field Museum, Sky Deck, Navy Pier, and also they enjoyed some of Chicago’s famous stuffed pizza.
